Getting Ready for Pre-School
• Junior Kindergarten (JK)
• Senior Kindergarten (SK)
Kindergarten is a two year program, with Junior and senior kindergarten. Programs are focused on ‘learning
through play’, which means that children are given large periods of time to play, explore and discover. The
Teacher provide intentional materials and opportunities to further the learning and talk with children as
they are exploring and discovering. Programming in kindergarten is based on the needs and interests of
children, and can meet the needs of a variety of learners. Kindergarten teams plan instruction for the whole
class, small groups, and individual children. Children work towards program expectations at their own pace
and with support.
“K12 School virtual classroom is a digital learning environment that allows teachers and students to connect in online in real time.”
“These are fun activities that teachers can play with their students over the internet. The purpose of these games is to educate and entertain students, which also helps build friendships.”
“During these unprecedented times and school closures... ...how can a PBL teacher keep students connected and engaged, so a project is just as powerful as what would be expected in their face-to-face classroom?”
