Preparing for Senior Year of High School

Aim: Discipline; Career Development; Development of Aptitudes and Interests; Development of Personality and Values

It starts with grade 9 and ends with grade 12. The classes are arranged by subjects. A student usually has different teachers throughout the day. You can save yourself a lot of stress if you start thinking about what you would like to do in college while you are still in high school. The earlier you prepare, the more time you will have to adjust your plans if you change your mind or to dig deeper into what you know you’re passionate about.

Your child has put in a lot of time and energy to make it this far, and that’s an accomplishment worth recognizing.

While your student’s senior year should include a lot of fun, it’s also important that they lay the groundwork for a bright future. Certain preparations now can reap large dividends later, so taking the time to start planning for college is worth the effort.

• English (classic literature, essay writing, and critical analysis)
• Mathematics (algebra, geometry, calculus)
• Science (biology, chemistry, physics)
• Social studies (history, world history, and civics)

High schools also have clubs, sports, work-study arrangements, and other activities.

There are names for students in each grade:
• 09th Grade: Freshman
• 10th Grade: Sophomore
• 11th Grade: Junior
• 12th Grade: Senior

As part of Career/Life planning programming, students in grades 7-12+ that promote learning through exploration, investigation, and active participation

Choosing a program based on their skills and ambitions, students can explore and build skills related to a variety of careers both within and outside of the classroom with full assistance and support, easing the transition as they move on to post-secondary education, whether in an apprenticeship, college or university.

CRITICAL THINKING
Today, education must go beyond rote memorization. Our curriculum challenges students to critically evaluate information, refine analytical skills, and develop an awareness of their problem-solving processes.

COLLABORATION
From group projects to interactive class sessions, students learn the value of teamwork in academic and professional contexts. By developing collaborative skills, our students are well-prepared to navigate an increasingly connected society and work toward common goals.

COMMUNICATION
Every career path demands clear communication. Our students learn how to articulate ideas in a variety of mediums and within formal and informal contexts. Additionally, an online learning format develops the virtual communication skills that will set graduates apart in the modern workplace.

CREATIVITY
Our instructors and curriculum encourage creative thinking to fuel innovation and growth. Students learn how to take responsible risks and evaluate real-world limitations to devise creative solutions.
